Our team recently carried out some aerial photography by drone in Luton City Centre, operating within the Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) of London Luton Airport (LTN) to support the planning and development of a new commercial building in the area.
The process
Operating within a Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) was no problem for our team at Wigram Drones. We took the following steps in order to operate here successfully for our client:
- Planning – Our team had to assess the weather conditions, hazards in the flight area and also other considerations to draft together a full flight plan and risk assessment.
- Non Standard Flight Application – Our team had to submit a Non Standard Flight Application to NATS, the UK’s leading air traffic control provider.
- Liaise with Luton Airport Tower (ATC) – Once we had received pre-approval from NATS, our team had to liaise with the tower at London Luton Airport in order to request permission to take off for a period of time.
If your project is located in a Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) but you are interested in one of our services, make sure to reach out to us as we can take care of all the paperwork and get our fleet of drones launched ready to meet your requirements.
Aerial Photos
Here are the aerial photos our team took using our DJI Mavic 3 Pro, to support the planning of a new development.
